If you have VoIP accounts and you have multiple DIDs allocated to you so that your contacts can call you at a local rate from your landline you may be interested in the iNum initiative from VoxBone, the leading VoIP carrier providing a centralized access to local phone numbers and toll-free numbers around the world.
iNum DIDs are available from multiple providers and start from 883 area code. The resulting number is 15 digits long (E.g. my Gizmo5 number is +883-5100-702-925-48 and it should be accessible at a local rate from landlines, cell phones and VoIP accounts.
The support is not complete, though. I was not able to call my number from my cellphone so I left the note to my carrier asking for the support status for iNum. After all, it is time to give people as much billable features as possible because cash flow for cell carriers decreased as well.
There are many access numbers in different countries (not in Ukraine, as always), that allow you to dial iNum numbers so if our provider does not support the direct dialing you may use them to overcome such limitation
Feel free to call me to test your iNum. If I am unavailable, please leave a message and I will eventually call back :)
